Obituary for Terell Cross
With gratitude to our Heavenly Father, we honor and celebrate the
life of Terell Anthony Cross.

Terell was born on April 29, 1981, in Queens, New York, to Michael
Anthony Cross and the late Rene Carmichael-Cross. From the very
beginning, he was surrounded by love. He spent his early years in
Ocean Village before moving to Hempstead, where he attended St.
Mary’s Catholic School. He later continued at Kellenberg Memorial
High School until 1996, when he relocated to Maryland with his
father. There, he completed his education at DuVal High School as
a proud member of the Class of 1999.

Terell’s younger years were filled with laughter, family, and close
friendships. He shared a special bond with his cousins, who were
more like siblings, and together they created memories that will
live on in the hearts of many.

After completing school, Terell built a career in construction,
eventually joining WMATA in 2009. He was a dedicated worker,
showing up with quiet strength and commitment.
Terell will be remembered for the light he brought into every space.
Known for being well-dressed and full of personality, he had a
natural gift for conversation and connection. He loved to laugh and
to make others laugh, often brightening someone’s day with a
joke, a story, or simply his presence. His spirit was warm, vibrant,
and unforgettable.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rene
Carmichael-Cross. He leaves to cherish his memory his father,
Michael Cross; his sister, Najah Muhammad Cross; his beloved
children, Teauren Delonte Cross, Christian Anthony Cross, and Tori
Alexis Cross; children in love Cam, Curston, Justice and his
cherished goddaughter, Milan. He is also survived by his
grandmother, Naomi Gordon-Karten, along with a host of aunts,
uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will
continue to carry his memory in their hearts
